SE на самом деле трудно назвать музыкальным проектом, который я начал в определённый момент времени, но если всё-таки спросить когда, то я отвечу, что начал писать электронную музыку около 8 лет назад. Я никогда не думал показывать моё творчество широкой публике. У меня уже было несколько записанных альбомов, пока друзья не настояли на том, чтобы я дал другим людям узнать о моей музыке.

Что вдохновило тебя на создание Epiphora, может быть какие-нибудь чувства, эмоции, события или музыка и сколько времени у тебя ушло на его написание?
EPIPHORA очень личная вещь, своего рода «проход в мой мир». Я не могу с уверенностью сказать, что создание EPIPHORA имело какую-то определённую цель, но идея сложить некоторые мои треки в единый альбом появилась весной 2008-го.
Что ты считаешь наиболее важным в музыке, я имею техническую составляющую, мелодику и т.д.?
Намерение и сюжет, лежащие в основе очень важные составляющие для музыки. Неважно благодарю чему был создан трек будь то чувства, эмоции, опыт или какая-либо другая причина, всё это может иметь место. Главное — Идея, а не способ воплощения.
Какую музыку ты слушаешь, и какие проекты ты считаешь наиболее интересными?
Я ценю всё то, что идёт из сердца. Музыка должна быть честной и правдивой. Конечно у меня есть любимые музыканты, в основном это исполнители 80-х и 90-х, на которых я вырос. Также зависит от моего настроения: иногда я люблю расслабиться, слушая какой-нибудь эмбиент и idm или джаз, иногда это может быть рок или иеталл. Первые ассоциации со словом «интересный» у меня вызывает проекты Мэйнарда Джеймса Кинана. Этот парень всегда даёт мне новые точки зрения.
Выступаешь ли ты живьём под псевдонимом SE?

Hello, Sebastian. First of all, I want to congratulate you with a successful debut. Please tell us about your project SE, how and when you had the idea of creating it?
SE is not really a music project I started at a specific point in time — but if you ask “when”: I started producing electronic music about 8 years ago. Originally I never thought about going public with my music. I already created a bunch of full length records that nobody ever listened to, until a friend encouraged me to let other people know about this.
I know that you have another project called Hedphug, which sounds quite different from the SE. How do you manage to work in these different musical directions?
My band HEDPHUG is a Metal Band which roots back to the late 90s. I’ve been playing music with some of these guys for many years now. It’s perfect for getting rid of anger — I can’t do that with SE. Actually these are not my only musical projects. Each of these musical directions and the emotions that come along with them are a part of me and I need this diversity of genres to reflect my personality.
Why did you decide to publish on Tympanik Audio and did you listen their releases?
Tympanik is a very solid label. They started in 2007 and already released some fantastic stuff. I’m very satisfied with the way they handle things and I like the fact that I’m free to implement my Ideas the way I want to, without anybody telling me to do it their way. I listened to some of the Tympanik artists like Subheim, Stendeck, Zentriert ins Antlitz and Integral before working with Tympanik and I really liked what I heard.
If not a secret tell what hard- or software do you use in your work?
It’s basically software. I’m working with a bunch of programs depending on what is best for the track I’m currently working on. And since I grew up with guitars, I sometimes use one, too.
What inspired you to create Epiphora, may be it was feelings, emotions, events or music, and how much time you have spent on its writing?
EPIPHORA is very personal stuff and a kind of “keyhole to my world”. I can’t really say that I’ve been “writing” EPIPHORA with a specific goal, but the idea of putting some of my songs on an album emerged some day in spring 2008.
What do you consider most important in music, I mean a technical component, melodies, etc.?
The intention and the story behind the music is the most important ingredient. Whatever it takes to create a track out of a feeling, emotion, experience or whatever reason is justified. It’s the Idea that counts, not the way of implementation.
What music do you listen to, and what projects do you think most interesting?
I appreciate everything that comes from someone’s heart. Music has to be honest and true. Of course I have some favorite artists, basicly stuff from the 80s and 90s that I grew up with. Depends on my mood: Sometimes I relax while listening to some nice Ambient and IDM music or Jazz, sometimes it must be Rock or Metal.
The first things I associate with the word “interesting” are the projects of Maynard James Keenan. That guy always gives me new points of view.
Do you live act under a SE alias?
Not yet. I’m working on the staging of SE. I’ve been doing some aural accompaniment of exhibitions and private views and I’ll be doing some small live events for friends, but a big liveshow is not going to happen in the next few month.
Is music your main occupation or you doing something else?
It’s one of the most important things and it would be a dream to make enough money someday to be able to concentrate exclusively on music, but at the moment I have an average job with a horrible pay.
Do you have ideas about the next album?
here are some pictures, melodies and atmospheres in my head and I will realize them someday.
